List the steps to reproduce the error more accurately. Make sure you make
changes to your Contact Records only within Outlook, never in OE and never
in the address book view.

Russ,
Actually it is very simple. I open Outlook to Contacts, click on a contact
to be deleted and then click the X for deletion. I instantly receive an
error - X Outlook
The messaging interface has received an unknown error. If the problem
persists, restart Outlook. I run a 3 computer wireless network and regularly
update Outlook through My Network Places using the select all and then the
copy feature. All 3 computers are receiving the same error. Otherwise all
other features of Outlook work fine. I can add Contacts with no problem. I
have used Outlook for many years and have a very large number of contacts in
the file. I was unaware that I shouldn't make changes in OE and have no
doubt some of the contacts have been entered that way over the years. I
tried the Inbox Repair Tool but tit didn't help. I have 4 files in my
Outlook folder extend.dat(2 kb), outlook.text (113 kb), outlook.pst (7744
kb.) and outlook.bak (7776 kb.)
Hope this helps.
Thanks

What message did you receive when you ran the Inbox Repair Tool?
You should never access a PST file over a network. Unfortunately IMO mode of
Outlook has no good options for repairing problems like this.

Ick. Then you probably have a corrupt connection to your PST file from
accessing it the way you do. IMO mode provides no option to repair it unless
you hack the registry to create a new "profile."
