New pc with Vista. Hotmail connects OK. Outlook start error message: "the
connection to the microsoft exchange server is unavailable" How is this
possibe when hotmail can find the server? How can i fix the outlook internet
connection?
You failed to state how you configured Outlook's accounts. I'd wager you did
so incorrectly.

That tells us nothing. Does your laptop connect to an Exchange server? Does
your desktop? You configured it to by adding an Exchange account.

I reconfigured the connection (no exchange server and didn't know what that

At some point someone must have tried to add an Exchange account to this
profile. It's easy to do by mistake when first configuring Outlook.
