Already posted here many times. You cannot and should not use Vista's WET
with Outlook. It does not work. The profile it creates is corrupt and will
not allow you to configure the Outlook Address Book. Create a new profile
from scratch. Configure your accounts manually. Migrate your data using the
supported method: open your previous data file in Outlook, then either set
it as your new default or copy what you want from it into a new default PST
file.

This solution may have been posted several times, but as someone who has
easily spent several hours trying to resolve this (searching Microsoft site,
searching forums, writing to tech support, etc.) I really don't understand
the instructions below. How do I create a new profile from scratch? How do I
configure accounts manually? How do I migrate my data? Those of us who do not
know all of these terms and just want to solve the problem, is there a
step-by-step place that shows how to resolve this issue? How would I have
known in advance that this migration would not have worked? I just got a new
computer and just wanted to migrate my contacts from my old Outlook 2003 to
this new version of Outlook on my new computer - everything else seems to
have worked as expected.
Thank you for your patience in responding to me.
