I am trying to add additional fields in each contact.  For example I have a
contact who has three children.  I want to add names and birthdays for those
children so that they automatically appear on the calander?  Any advise on
how to so this with out creating seperate contacts for each child?

I'd just add it to the Notes field but you can create custom fields.
