Hi,
I'm in Outlook 2003, go into Contacts, double click on a distribution
list, add 2 contacts, Save and Close.  Double click again to check --
contacts are there.
Click on New Mail Message, put Distribution List in the To: field and send
the message.  The newly added contacts were not on it.  This happened when I
removed a contact as well.

So I click on New Mail Message, add the Distribution List in the To:
field, right click and select Properties.  The added (or removed) names are
not there.  I add them again, and click Save and Close.  Now they are on the
list.

Any ideas why this is happening?  This is on a home PC with Windows XP Home.

thanks
greg

Not enough information. State precisely how you are selecting the DL as a
recipient.

Hi Russ,
In the "New Mail Message" window, in the "To:" field, I type in the name
of the distribution list.  At that point, I can continue, or right click and
select "Properties" to see the names on the list.  This differs from the DL
if I go to "Contacts" and double click the DL.  It's almost like it was
cached somewhere...does this make sense?

thanks

That's because it is cached.  Instead of accepting the value that pops up in
the autocompletion list, click To and select it from the Contacts folder in
the Address Book.  Alternatively, when it pops up, delete it from the cache
(by selecting it with your arrow keys and pressing Delete), then finish
typing the name, pressing Ctrl-K when done.

Thanks Brian.  Strange I hadn't run into that one before.  I appreciate the
help.
