OE 7 Address Book Contacts Vanished!

After entering a few new contacts to my Outlook Express address book, I
noticed that ALL of my previously displayed contact addresses, normally shown
on left side of my screen in "Contacts" box, had vanished. What appears now
is a message: "There are no contacts to display. Click on contacts to create
a new contact". Huh?

The contacts are not lost, as I found all intact by going to "Addresses" on
the toolbar. However, I have tried everything I can think of to put them back
on the main screen and nothing works. I've gone to "addresses - main
identity" page and gone through all steps, including "view" but no luck.

Any suggestions out there? Help please ... Thanks!
