Filtering Contacts on Word Mail Merge

I have an extensive list of contacts, and each has as assigned a category.  I
want to take only those contacts with the category "holiday" and use them in
a Word Mail merge.  I can set up the mail merge to use the Outlook Contacts
without any problem but I cannot seem to filter the contacts based on
category.  I am using Office 2000.  Is there a way I can filter the contacts
based on category and use just the filtered list in a mail merge?

Thank you,

Just start the merge from Outlook. Select the Category and perform the merge
to the selected Contacts. (Not sure Outlook 2000 supports that. It may be
too old. Check and see. I know of no one still using it.)
