nice--like Outlook version, what you mean by "contact list" (that term is
your own and has no meaning to us) and what isn't happening that you think
should.

The contact folder in outlook is empty and I have had names and numbers in
there for several years. There is data there that can not be replaced

In that case you DO have a recent backup, ........don't you?

Outlook has mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, notes and it is the contacts
that is suddenly empty

Then there is more to this story than you've told. Search your hard drive
for Outlook data files (*.pst) and open each until you find the one that has
your Contacts.
