outlook importing of contacts from a csv file into outlook 2000 ad

i have a csv file ready to import into my 2000 outlook contacts. email is
configured and working as is calendar.  when i try to import contact i end
with both names and emails in contacts but when i try to configure a distn
list then the name comes up but not the email address associated with it.
when i open outlook address book it says no entry.s

I suspect that's because the addresses aren't resolved in the Contacts
record.  However, there is another wrinkle you don't state.  Outlook 2000
comes in two modes: Internet Mail Only and Corporate/Workgroup.  In the
former, your Contacts folder may not be where your contacts are kept, since
it usually uses the Windows Address Book for its contacts.  Click Help>About
on Outlook's menu and state which mode you're using.

Then the question remains: are you using the Contacts folder or are you
actually using the WAB for your addresses?
