Using Outlook 2003, I clicked on New Message and the Message Form loaded.
I click on To and it said the Contacts folder associated with this Contacts
List could not be opened. I clicked OK
A window appearted that on the top right said "Select names" and on thr nest
line on the left side of the windows it said "Show names from" and a window
dircttly below it said Contacts. I skrolled down. Under a head that said
Addres Book were listed three items named Contacts. I clicked on each one.
The first two produced the error message, but the third displayed my Contacts
List !
I looked in C:\Documents and Settings\NCav\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook and found file Outlook.pst.
Why are three items with the same name? How do I get rid of the two empties
and contect MY contat=cts List with the To so I can insert the name and
address of a contact into a mesage address line?

You remove the invalid references to Contacts Folders here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change… >
