i have Outlook 2003

I woud like to use outlook contacts as the data source for a mailmerge
however there is no field for salutation for a litter

e.g.  name is Reginald Van Burne   but letter salutation should be Dear Reggie

i tried adding a new field using view-current view-cusotomize and whlie it
seems to allow me to add a user-defined field which i called slauation -  the
new field does not appear on the view of contacts and I can't figure out how
to enter data in the field or to display it

any suggestions?

One suggestion. Stop reposting the same question. Stay in the thread. Why
would you not use an existing field that could be used in a merge. Let's go
out on a limb here. Hey. Why not use the Nickname field?

are you trying to be helpful?   or merely sarcastic?
