Duplicate email addresses within contact

I have searched and can't find an answer to this question.

I have quite a few contacts that have duplicate email addresses within the
contact, i.e. "david@msn.com" is listed as email1, email2 and email3.

I've found many utilities to delete duplicate contacts but nothing to delete
duplicate emails "within" a contact. Can anyone help me with this one?

How did you manage to create Contacts like that? Outlook doesn't do it. End
users do. Tell us the steps to repro.

The short version of a long story is I had some synchronization issues with
my Blackberry. It duplicated email addresses somehow, and I've not yet
completely figured out that issue; but I do want to try to eliminate the
duplicates in the easiest way possible, rather than go through all my
contacts individually.

Brian,

Thanks for the link. it looks to me like the listed utilities are all of the
variety that look for duplicate contacts, not duplicate information within a
contact file (which is my issue).

You'll have to tell me what you think the difference is.  In Outlook, there
is no such thing as a "contact file".

Just a confusing choice of words in terms of "contact file" versus contact
"entry/record/item" etc. Question re duplicates is in reference to
Email1Address/Email2Address/Email3Address fields within a single contact
item.

At the risk of providing only a "teaser response" at this time - we should
have a solution that addresses your issue, that being duplicate email
addresses within the 3 standard email addresses in a single contact (along
with slew of other features related to things such as FileAs,
EmailDisplayNames, company & domain name changes etc) within the next few
weeks (if not sooner - no exact release date has been set yet so please
don't ask). It will be released publicly as part of a new utility product.
The other item that you may find appealing is that the feature your looking
for will be available as part of the "free" offering. Feel free to send a
msg to "support AT contactgenie.com" asking to be put on the beta list if
you're interested and you'll be notified accordingly.
