I too would like some help on this topic. I think the
problem is that Outlook XP and OE use different address
books / contact files (.PAB and .WAB), and neither appear
to be shareable with each other except through exporting
one to the other.
I have stopped using Outlook 2002 for email because it is
completely hopeless - extremely unstable time-consuming
as I have to copy a very large .pst file between three
different computers, and updates this file on access even
if it has not been altered so I can't tell which is the
most recent version.
But I also need to synchronize with an IPAQ Pocket PC,
which (of course!) does not work with Outlook Express. So
I am using Outlook to synchronise my contacts with the
PocketPC, and OE for email. Is there any way of having a
single file of contacts that both OE and Outlook can use?

Outlook uses the Contacts Folder, not a PAB. OE uses the WAB. You can force
OE to use your Outlook Contacts Folder instead with reg hack:
