any way to do this in one step? they all work for the same company, and the
company moved. (and I do not know what is a BCM)

I already answered this (for you) a few days ago:

Turn on the Advanced Toolbar.
View the Contacts folder in the Phone List View.
Turn on the Group By Box (from the Advanced Toolbar)
Drag the column header "Company" into the Group By Box - it's a grey box
that appears when you click the button on the Advanced Toolbar.
Make the correction to one of the Contacts so the Company name is correct.
That 1 Contact will be in a group of its own.
Select and drag all the Contact in the old Company Name group into the Group
with te right one.

Thank you Judy – But that other question was from "im joel coen", not me.
And your answer specifically refers to changing the Company Name, the
question he asked.
But thanks to your step-by-step answer, I was able to re-configure the
process to do what I needed to do (change the mailing address / phone
numbers).

I learned much from your answer, and I appreciate your contributions to the
board.
But for someone whose quote states, "What do we live for, if it is not to
make life less difficult for each other?", that was an unwarranted snark of a
reply.

P.S. When looking for solutions, I always start with searching offline, then
online Office help.
Perhaps MS could take a cue from those sites which use tags?
