How do I restore my Categories for my Contacts?

My 100s of Contacts are now listed in alphebetical order (reverse), and I
can't get them to reappear in the Categories I've been using for years - I
double clicked on something by mistake and can't reverse it...Naturally, I've
tried the "Display by Category" button, and it doesn't make a difference. (My
system in XP).

Any ideas?

What version of Outlook?  What view are you using?

Turn on the Advanced Toolbar and you may be able to see what you have
changed. Is expect you have sorted or grouped in an unusual (to you) way.

Use the Group By Box to see what grouping you have turned on.

Look at the Current View window to see what view you are in.

Thanks for all your suggestions, Judy! I still can't solve me problem, tho.
In "Current View" the frustrating thing is that I've checked and re-checked
the heading "By Category", BUT my Contacts continue to be displayed NOT by
Category, but by an endless aphabetical order...(BTW, my "Categories" are
still embedded in each Contact, I've checked - so this at least is
reassuring).

Any other suggestions?

It's Outlook 2003, Brian.

You didn't answer by second question.

Click View>Arrange By>Current View>Customize Current View>Reset Current
View.  WHat happens then?
