Outlook 2007. I have one set up on my laptop and one on my desktop.
I have slightly different categories set up on the laptop as opposed to the
desktop.
Is there an easy way of making sure that both sets of categories are the
same? (Obviously this is a one-off exercise.....)

Thanks

All depends on your mail account type.

You can create a category file and then put it on both machines and use this
add-in;

For synchronising once you can use Category Manager for free (please see the
link in my signature).

Aladdins CategorieZ allows some great features not seen in other products
and integrates into the Outlook UI. Aladdins has a synchronize feature to
help sync the master list with the items in Outlook.
