I have over a 1000 names that I have put user-defined items into.  I have
named the folder, but cannot export.  What can I do/  Have spent a lot of
time on this and really need help.  Thanks so much.

You will need a 3rd party product (or write your own code).

2 options available to you (there are others)

This free utility will solve your problem especially if this is either a
one-time or casual requirement (product not related to us - provided for
info only)

In the event you require more advanced features - you can review our export
product options (not free) here:

I routinely cut and paste a slab of Contacts from Outlook and paste them
into Excel. With user defined fields.

Use a table view (eg Phone List)
Show all the fields you want to take to Excel.
Select the records
Copy
Paste in excel

Run a test on a few COntacts.

The one issue with cut and paste when a lot of contacts are highlighted
(definition of "a lot" seems to be different for each configuration but in
some cases "a lot = not that many" relatively speaking) - seems it's real
easy to get memory related error messages or some addins stop working etc
requiring Outlook to be closed and restarted (at least that's what happened
more than once on different test systems using different Outlook versions).

Just mentioning this as a FYI in case others have also run into this.
