Can we set outlook to format telephone numbers? For example, if I enter 4157488021 in the number field in an Outlook contact record and upon moving to another field, have the phone number automatically format to (415) 748-8021. > Can we set outlook to format telephone numbers? Set your Windows Modem and DIaling properties correctly. Outlook uses those settings to know how to format the phone numbers. May have found our problem... I found this online... 1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Double-click Telephony. 3. On the General tab, click Manual in the Startup type box, and then click OK. 4.
