I've got Outlook2003 on an exchange server. When I setup a distribution list,
it shows up in my Contacts folder as a distribution list. However, when I
select New Message to Contact..the message opens up and its just a regular
contact, no underline or bold, just the name of the list, and it won't send
becuase it can't resolve the name.

The lists never show up in my Cotnact list when I click To: either, it only
seems to show the addresses from the exchange server.

We are without any information. This DL was set up where and how?
How did you configure your Outlook Address Book?

I setup the DL in the Contacts folder. Its on an exchange server, I
congifured nothing. I simple clicked on contacts, then New - DL, entered the
names, named the DL and saved it.

An issue with Cached Exchange mode, perhaps?

I was asking how you configured the Outlook Address Book, not the DL. When
you create a DL correctly and configure the Outlook Address Book correctly,
it will appear in the Address Book, which you say it does not.

Try this:

In Outlook, go to Tools > Mail Setup > Email Accounts.  Click 'Add a new
directory or address book > Next > Additional Address Book > Next > Outlook
Address Book.  It might ask you to Exit and Restart Outlook.  Once you open
it, do a new message and click the 'To..' box.  In the upper right corner
drop down menu, it should allow you to choose 'Contacts' under 'Outlook
Address Book'.

Try that.
