Vista and outook 2007.
When I try to compose a message, my 'to' box shows no contacts available.
However, if I start to type in the box such as 'a' all of my 'a' listings
appears as choices to pick from.  So obviously, it is getting this
information from somewhere.  How do I get my contacts to show up again?  It
has been suggested that I restore from a recent backup tape, but I don't know
how long for positive this has been like this.  Please help!

Configure your Outlook Address Book service.

From your autocompletion cache, which has nothing to do with contacts.
