Hi

In earlier versions of Outlook when adding contacts the application
would auto capitalize the first character of a contact names.

Outlook 2007 doesn't do this by default.

Is there a setting I cant see or can't this be done?

All the AutoCorrect options are checked including "Capitalize first
letter of sentanses" and "Capitalize first letter of table cells"

I'm guessing Outlook 2007's Contacts doesn't use AutoCorrect

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

We have no idea what you mean. Your description is far too vague. We have no
idea how you are "adding Contacts" nor the fields to which you refer.

In contacts I click on New.

In my new contact's First Name field I type something like "freddie"
and hit tab

Now in Outlook 2003 the application would at this point change
"freddie" into "Freddie"

Do you know how to re-enable this feature in 2007?

TIA

Odd. No version of Outlook I've ever used has done this and there is no such
feature to enable.

I can confirm that Outlook 2003 does this.  It doesn't appear to be
dependent on the AutoCorrect options, either.  I click the Full Name button
on the new contact form, enter "freddie" in the First Name field, then tab
out of the field and the field's contents is replaced by "Freddie"

Odd. I've always had to capitalize names myself. Since most typers do that
by force of habit anyway, I doubt it's a feature many need or use. It sure
isn't in the current version.

finds this feature a little anoying

Anyone have any ideas?
