I’m trying to create and update distribution lists based on categories. Therefore, as contacts are added/changed I would like the distribution list to change automatically to reflect the new information. DLs cannot contain category information. Since you're using categories, though, why do you think you need DLs. If you want to send a message to the people in a particular category, display your contacts in the By Category view, select the category, and click Actions>New Message to Contact.
