Try running the Inbox Repair Tool against your .PST file to see if it finds
any errors. Search your drive for a file called scanpst.exe and run it.

I am having the same problem and have had nop lick with the repair tool as well. my file size is well under the limit and I have perhasp 200 of 2000 contacts that can't be deleted?
