Disappearing distribution lists

More than one person at our company has reported that
distribution lists they've set up have disappeared.  It
isn't just the e-mail addresses disappearing out of the
distribution lists; the whole distribution list is gone.
None of the users appear to have done anything that would
cause the distribution lists to disappear.  Has anybody
else experienced this?  Any ideas on how we can keep it
from happening?  Thanks very much!

I've seen similar reports, but no explanations or solutions. DL's are
fragile, buggy tools. I avoid them if I can.

At least I'm not the only one mystified!  Thanks for your
response.

I was just here looking for this problem.  My experience was that after
exporting my personal folders.pst to load to a new laptop, all my
distribution lists were gone.  I'M NOT HAPPY, MR. GATES!

Just FYI.

Anyone know a solution?
