Lose Focus When Switching to Contact List

When in Outlook and I switch to my contact list, the focus
is initially on the first contact.  However the focus
immediately moves to something else (I don't know where it
goes) and I must bring the focus back to the contacts
before I can type a name.

Not a killer, but not convenient.  This machine seems to
be the only one that does this.

Running XP with Outlook XP and all updates installed.

Does anyone know how to address this?

Thanks.

Cole I just came to this forum about 2 minutes ago and did a search on
'focus' because I have the same problem on 3 different PC's.  Also when
I switch to my Calendar view the day loses focus too (it is initially
on the current day).  I've installed all the updates as well.  I
thought I was the only one with this weird problem.  I hope someone can
help us.

I found the problem. I have Outlook configured to go directly to
'Outlook Today' on startup. If you change it to startup in any other
folder you dont lose focus when switching between Contacts, Calendar,
etc...

Pretty dumb bug.

I spoke too soon. It works but if you open another application or even
windows explorer then close the application the problem reappears. I
thought I had it!!
