OL XP - Contacts not displayed with ( ) - format

When one of my users types in a contact such as
2155551212 , Outlook is supposed to change it to the
format (215) 555-1212 , but it is not.

I looked through the KB but don't see relevant
information.  Any ideas?

That usually means the default dialing location is not specified.

I had checked that on my machine, but on his it was set to
just '1'.  Many thanks!
