I am using Outlook 2003 at home, and Outlook 2002 at
work. Periodically I need to synchronize the two
Contacts files. What I intend to do is Export from one
contacts file to an excel file, then Import the excel
file into the other contacts files using the "do not
import duplicates" option. What fields in a Contacts
database does the import function look at, to determine
that the imported record is identical?

There simply are no good or foolproof ways to do this. It's one of Outlook's
deficiencies, and the problem is compounded by the fact that Outlook 2003
and Outlook 2002 no longer use the same format of PST file. Your options are
