I created distribution lists in a folder under contacts
so that they don't show up in the contacts list. This works
fine except that when it is entered into the to:feild on
an outgoing e-mail the dist.list name shows up but not the
individual e-mail adresses.I need the individual adreeses
so I can remove the one or ones I do not want to send to
on a case by case bassis. The reason I didn't want the
distribution names to show up in the contact list is that
I don't want them to be synced with my phone.

What version of Outlook? Only Outlook 2003 has this ability.

You bcc your distribution list and then only the individual person;s name will show.

Or you can highlight the distribution list name and right click for properties and remove them from there.
