my outlook freezes when i try to edit contacts

hi,

for the past couple of months whenever i try to edit a
contact in my outlook my outlook freezes and i have to
end the program. generally a log of the error is created
and sent to microsoft, but i'm not sure why outlook
freezes. I haven't downloaded anything new. any
suggestions for how to go about fixing this problem?

Post your Outlook version.
Post the steps you are using to access the Contact Record and whether your
Contacts appear correctly in your Contacts Folder.
Post the steps that lead up to this problem.
Post what type of information store Outlook is using (i.e., Exchange mailbox
or Personal Storage File).
