Hello All,

Does anyone know how to turn autocomplte on in MS
Outlook. I updated the program sometime ago and ever
since then I have not been able to get the function to
work again. I tried turning it off and on but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Post your Outlook version and what you tried.

I'm using Outlook 2002. The program was crashing
intermittently and I performed a detect and repair.

Right after doing the detect and repair is when I noticed
that my autocomplete function wasn't working anymore.
I tried turning it off restarting and turning it back on
but that didn't work.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'll ask again.
How are you "turning it on?"
How do you know it's not working? Have you even repopulated your
autocompletion cache with enough names to tell?

Hello Russ,

I turned it on and off by going to tools> options> email
options> advanced email options> then I selected suggest
names when completing To,Cc and Bcc fields.

I send emails to the same people all the time so I would
think that the cache is populated. By the way, does the
cache file have a NK2 extension? I tried to find this
file after reading Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -
287854. I searched my hard drive but could not find it. I
didn't upgrade from Outlook 2000 but I was trying to find
a solution to my issue.

Thanks for all of your help

Keith

What was this "update" you applied? If it created a new profile, your
autocompletion cache started over from scratch.
See if autocomplete recalls an address to a message you must sent.
