Whenever I create a new message and click "To:" to bring up the contacts
list, the pull-down menu in the upper-right displays the following:

Outlook Address Book
 Contacts
...

When I click 'Contacts,' I get an empty list.  But when I click the Contacts
folder in my Outlook Today hierarchy, I see all my Contacts.

Now, if I go to my Contacts folder's properties and set, "Show this folder
as an e-mail Address Book", then the aforementioned pulldown menu displays
the following:

Outlook Address Book
 Contacts
 Contacts
...

One of these lists has all my contacts, and the other remains empty.

I have no other Contacts folder anywhere in my visible hierarchy.  Where
does this ghost Contacts folder live and how do I get rid of it?  There
aren't any address books to be found by going through, "View or change
existing directories or address books."  I just can't figure out where this
empty folder is coming from.

Remove the ghost here:
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. >
