My contacts header has a number in parentheses, ie (11).
What does this designate?

I have over 200 contacts on my computer but only 11 sync
to my IPAQ, 11 is also the number in parentheses.

Fill in the blanks. You left out far too much information for anyone to
help. For instance:

1. The number in parentheses is the number of unread messages. How did you
manage to get unread messages in your Contacts Folder?
2. What Outlook version?
3. How many Contacts Folders in your profile?
4. How is your Outlook Address Book configured?
