How do I transfer contacts from one computer to a new
computer
tbrox - 17 Jan 2004 08:01 GMT
The easyest way is to go to file and choose import/export. Choose to export a file.  Then choose to export it as a windows CSV file. you will be asked what folder you want to export and then where to put it and what to name it.  When your done transfer that file to the other computer and repeat the process except tell it to import.

One note, have your Office CD ready because you might have to add the Windows CSV module to both computers. If Office came preinstalled on your computer you may not need the CD.

It is never a good idea to export to a different file format when you are
transferring from one installation to another of Outlook.
Simply copy your Contacts to a PST file, then open that PST file in the
other installation. Or if you want to transfer all your Outlook data, just
copy and reuse your PST file.
