I would like to use the Public Folders to create a
master "Contact Manager" that everyone in our company can
utilize.   Everytime I enter a new journal entry or add
an attachment to a contact in the Public Folders, it
disappears.  Is it possible to program Outlook to retain
this information in the public folders?

The journal entries are going into your personal Journal folder. Outlook
does not provide any built-in simple mechanism for maintaining a public
journal. See http://www.slipstick.com/journal/pubjournal.htm for a
discussion of this issue and possible solutions.
