Now I cannot reimport em into Outlook. The contacts are
individual and are of file type "Outlook Item" each has
an envelope icon...dont tell me I have lost em all..I
brought em from my last job...and they deleted the
account...can anyone help?

Bad news: There are ways to do what you were trying to do, but I suspect you missed the mark and now have simple mail message items with no contact-specific data in them. Try saving one to your hard drive, then viewing it in Notepad to confirm.
