What exactly do you mean by "excluded in a specific category"...do you mean
the item DOES appear in that category, or does NOT appear in that category?
Can you give an example?

Suppose i have many contacts in several categories, such
as FAMILY FRIENDS CHRISTMAS CARDS BUSINESS
CONTACTS SCOUTS. I want to update CHRISTMAS CARDS to
people that I have made contact with in BUSINESS &
SCOUTS.
I guess I want to exclude or "hide" the CHRISTMAS CARD
contacts, so that all visible contacts could be added to
the category.
Many thanks,
Glen

You shouldn't need to hide the category...if you switch to By Category view
and drag the items from the Business and Scouts categories to the Christmas
Cards category, it should add Christmas Cards to the category list of those
particular contacts.
