Sorry I know this has been touched on before but when entering phone numbers
into outlook 20002/3 on some computers it reformats the entered number (ie
123-1234) to show area code etc. (+1 (334) 123-1234)  which causes a problem
with fax software such as Accpac Faxserv.  Outlook sends the number as is
and for local calls wihtout 10 digit dialing, well it doesn't go through.

I had found a knowledge base artice in the past for O98 that disabled this
autoformating.  I have gone through many Articles including 265722, 265723,
265725, 289526 and but have been unable to figure how to leave the number as
entered (ie 123-1234).  Even putting quotes around the number doesn't work
because outlook sends the quote marks as part of the number.

Under the dialing rules as well have not been able to get the area code and
prefix to work as it should.  If i'm understanding it correctly you enter
the prefixes that are local to you for your area code (ie. 123 for area code
334) and when dialing out is supposed to remove the 1 and area code form the
number and just dial the number itself.  Outlook stubornly sends all 10
digits.  Even if this worked with the phone company constantly adding
prefixes and 40+ computers this gets a little hard to keep up with dialing
rules which is why I would like to find a way to turn them off or
autoformating.

Options...?

So you disabled that option, and yet the country code is still being added
to every phone number you enter?
That is a first. Can't reproduce that behavior, nor have I seen any reports
like it. Sorry.
