I closed a field to the right of the header list of my contacts in the View of "Contacts by Category" and can not find how to bring it back, or for that matter what it was for!  Any help or suggestions to regain this would be appreciated

Thanks

You can reset the view.  View | Current View | Define Views...select the By
Category view and click Reset.  Note that in Outlook 2003, there's an extra
submenu to go through -- View | Arrange By | Current View | Define Views.
