Exported all my contacts to zip disk as .pst files
specifying to include subfolders.  On new PC, I imported
the same.

In my folder list to the left (in Outlook)I see Contacts
with the subfolders, so they were imported.  However,
when I create an email, only the names in the top-
level "Contacts" folder are available.  None of the sub-
folders (co-workers, family, friends, etc) are
recognized.

Any clue how to fix this?  Help is apprciated!!

You need to enable the subfolders as email address books in their
properties.
