Contact group error message

When I try to open one of my groups in the Contacts folder
I get "Out of memory or system resources".  Other groups
in the folder open with no problem.  Individual contacts
work just fine as well.

I don't know of (or haven't been able to find) any limits
on the size of a contact group, but this one is quite
large and could be over the limit.  If it is, how do I
reduce it since I can't open it?  Also, what is the limit
and where do I find it?

Thank you,

Bob Peticolas

Since Outlook does not use groups, I'm not sure what you mean.

Sorry about that.  Replace the word "groups"
with "distribution list".

Then this would have nothing to do with the size of the DL. Most likely your
DL is corrupt.

OK, I figured as much.  How do I un-corrupt it?  I tried
the "scanpst.exe" program against an export of the dist.
list with no change.  Is there another program for
cleaning up contact lists?

Scanpst.exe is the only repair option, but I'd run it on your entire file,
not an export thereof.
I've always found DL's to be very fragile and buggy. I abandoned them long
ago in favor of Categories or Contacts subfolders.

Russ,

Thank you, I'll give it a shot.
