after using don adam's autonumber.mdb and autonumber.oft,
when i try to open my contacts form, it tells me
that "the odbc connection failed, could not create
connection to autonumber, make sure autonumber is a
valied dsn". and then "object required con db line 125".
i am not sure what to do next. the code looks right and i
think the dsn is right?

"I think the dsn is right" isn't good enough. Check it.

FYI, there is a newsgroup specifically for general Outlook programming
issues "down the hall" at microsoft.public.outlook.program_vba
