Is this possible.  I took care of the "read only" message, but now I get
"The file ..\\contacts.pst is not compatible with this version of
Personal Folders Information Service.  Contact your Administrator"
This is an Exported .PST file of contact from Outlook 2003, I'm trying
to import it to Outlook 2000.

The message is correct.
If you want to create a PST file that earlier versions can use, do not
export. Expressly create a New > Outlook Data File... in the "Outlook
97-2000" format.
