Hi,

I am encountering a pretty serious problem with the Business Contact Manager
in Outlook 2003.

Here is the description and sequence of steps I took:

1. Attempted to customize the current view for "Business Contacts in Business
  Contact Manager" in "My Contacts".

2. E-mail column was added and "File As" column was removed.

3. Now I get the following message when I try to view "Business Contacts"
  in "My Contacts"

  "Unable to display the folder. ORDER by items must appear in the select
  list if SELECT DISTINCT is specified"

4. I get the same error message when I user the
  Business Tools->Business Contacts menu.

5. In the current state I cannot create a new business contact.

Looks like the customization corrupted the business contacts database.

Has anybody seen the same problem?

Talked to Microsoft Support. They were quite helpful.

They pointed me to the following article:

Q828238 You Can Delete Predefined Fields in Columns and Add Custom
Fields to Columns in the Business Contact Manager Folder
