IM address (what has to be filled in?)

Can someone explain to me what the 'IM address' is. I use msn Messenger but there you use a .net passport id which in my case is my hotmail e-mail address. I can imagine that you fill in that address in the IM address field, but I am not sure.

No clues in the knowledge base or helpfiles.

yes, put the .net messenger address in the IM field.
