When I go into contacts, the display is last name, then
first name.  When creating an email, clicking on the "TO"
button, my contacts display first name then last name.  I
knew how to make these corrections in 2000 but not xp.  It
was under Tools, Services.  Where do I correct this?  Help
the Chief of Staff is after me.

Have you tried going to tools, options, contact options,
preferences and see how the same are listed ? that is the
1st place I would try....good luck.

Nope. Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there

I always wanted to know how to to this and was delighted
to read this.  But, have followed instructions but still
when I press select the "TO" button my contacts appear
listed by first name then last (display setting says Last
then first).

Any ideas?

Did you restart Outlook after you made the change?
