Microsoft Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0.6627) Corporate or Workgroup - Security Update I have a problem which seems to be quite common. I have read as many of the postings I can, but have not managed to find a solution. When I try to view the Contacts from the Address book (Show Names from the: [select outlook address book -> contacts>], there are no visible contacts, although there are 1028 in the contacts folder. I've made sure that the Contacts folder properties has "Show this folder as an email Address Book" checked. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Merrick Go to Tools > Services. Make sure the Outlook Address Book service is listed. If not, add it. Next, R click on the Contact folder or folders you want the OAB to display, choose "Properties", go to the Outlook Address Book tab and check the "Show this folder as an E-mail address book" box. You may also need to go to Tools > Options > Addressing Tab and choose to show your Contacts folder. By reading any of the myriad posts here asking the same question. Go to Tools | E-mail accounts, select "View or change existing directories or address books", and click OK. If you don't see the OAB in the Directories and Address Books list, click the Back button, then select "Add a new directory or address book", then "Additional Address Books", and add the OAB. Then keep clicking Back until you get back to the first dialog box, and go back to the Directories and Address Books list as you did earlier. Once the OAB appears in the list, select it and then click Change to make sure the Contacts folder(s) you want to display are listed. If any of them aren't listed, you'll need to enable those Contacts folders as Outlook Address Books by right clicking the folder, selecting Properties, clicking the Outlook Address Book tab, and checking the "Show this folder as an E-mail address book" box. Should work. Thanks for all the help. After talking to the user again, there was an issue with the sync of his iPAQ PDA which caused some issues. What I've done to solve the problem is open up the contacts in the contacts folder, edit either the fax number or email address (whichever was relevant by just cutting it and re-pasting) and saving the contact again. This seems to work but the contacts have to be individually altered. I haven't tested exporting the entire contacts list and then importing it, but that may work too. Regards |
