Am I missing something about BCM and Email?

When I receive email from someone for whom I wish to add to BCM's
Business Contacts list, I find I have to do a long process:

1. right mouse click on the email address in the email
2. save as an Outlook Contact
3. Open Outlook Contacts.
4. find the new contact
5. drag the contact from Outlook Countact to BMC's Business Contacts
6. if appropriate, add to an existing account, or create a new account.

Is there a way to take email and make them into BCM Business Contact in
fewer steps?  My hunch there is a way, but darn if I can't find it.

Hope this is useful to you.  Let us know.

Two methods:

#1: Drag the mail message to the BCM Business Contacts folder. This pops up
a BCM contact form where you can enter the account. You may need to crop the
text in the Comments section if the original message was long.

#2: Right-click the address and choose Add to Contacts. Instead of Save and
Close, click File | Move to Folder, and select the Business Contacts folder
as the target. If you want to link it with an account, you'll have to find
it in the BCM folder.

Sue,

it is times like this when I wish you were behind my shoulder.  In
Outlook 2003, when I am in the mail folder, I don't have any icons on
the left bar for BCM Contacts.  SO the Option 1 doens't really work for
me.  I guess I'm missing how to make this folder show up ont he
Navigation Bar.

Option 2 works great.  I didn't see the "move to folder" command (yet it
was always there!).

thanks,

rms

The mail navigation view shows only mail folders. If you want to see
contacts folders, you must click on either Contacts button or the Folder
List button. Or you can choose Business Tools | Business Contacts from the
menu.

But dragging is something else. Just try it: Drag a message to the contacts
button at the bottom of the navigation pane.

Sue,

Yep, that works.  Still not the "one-step" drag into BCM Contacts that I
am seeking, but now with two steps (File/Move to Folder..), *much*
better than my previous habit.

Thanks!
