After entering a few dozen contacts into Outlook Contacts (Office 2000 Pro, with SP-3), all of a sudden I started getting the error message, "The messaging interface has returned and unknown error. If problem persists, restart Outlook." I restarted Outlook, reinstalled MS Office and installed the service pack 3 (recommended fix), but still get the error message when trying to add new contacts. Any idea what to do now? Thanks. In order to install Office 2000 Service Pack 3, Office 2000 Service Release 1a must be installed first. The article below will give you the information that you need.
