I have Outlook 2002 and several listings in my address book but none are in my contacts.  I did a search and I don't have a .pab file for personal address book to import into contacts.

What you describe is not possible. Outlook has no address book. The Outlook
Address Book only displays the contents of your Contacts Folder(s).
Provide more detail about what you are seeing and what you mean by "address
book." Look more closely. I suspect you have at least one Contacts Folder
somewhere that contains some Contacts.

When I go to my contacts there is only 1 listing there and it is from a guy that sent a vcard.  I have over 1000 in my regular address book but no contacts corresponding???  to hot sync my pda it goes only to contacts.  Maybe I need to manually enter them or can I export my address book and re-import?

Please reread my post and answer the questions. I cannot help you without
the information.
Define precisely what you mean by "regular address book." In Outlook, the
address book cannot contain information that does not reside in a Contacts
Folder.

Maybe I'm not explaining it correctly... My folder called "Contacts" has one listing in it.  My address book which is also called "Contacts" (I have all my customers info etc saved in there) When I go to send a message it pulls up "Address Book" and then under Show Names from the:  it is called Contacts and there's a ton of stuff in there but for some reason it doesn't show up in actual Contacts which is where I want/need it to be.

I don't know how else to explain it.
Your Outlook Address Book does not and cannot contain any information. It
can only display information that is in a Contacts Folder.
Therefore, somewhere in your Outlook Profile you must have a Contacts Folder
that the Outlook Address Book is displaying when you see all that
information.
You also, obviously have another, nearly empty Contacts Folder with that one
Contact.
Only you can sort this out. That's why I asked you to examine your Profile
closely to see how many Contacts Folders you have. You must have more than
one. Use View > Folder List  and expand all Folders to see all the Folders
your Profile contains.

I have a similar situation.  I have, on numerous occasions, entered into my contacts, a new contact.  Upon "save and exit" the contact vanishes.  If I select find from the toolbar, and type in the persons name, tada, there it is.  I can open it and everything.  Again, I save and exit, close the find bar, and look for the person in my contacts folder and they are not there.  It has also happened that the missing "contact" is in the OAB however does not display in the "Contacts" folder.  I have one contacts folder listed in my Personal Folders list.  Why does Outlook have to have an OAB and a Contacts folder?  Why can they not just have one?  I have my contacts chosen as an address book.  How do I get the people in the OAB to display in the contacts folder and how do I get the people that are out there somewhere, not displaying in either, to show up in the contacts folder

You've left something out. You must have more than one Contacts Folder to
see what you're seeing. Look again.
