Auto-fills wrong email address

Hi

I'm using Outlook 2002.  What drives me nuts, is that I like to just type names in the "to" field, and have the system auto-fill with the address that is in that person's saved contact file.  However, for some names, it either auto-selects the wrong address (for example, one contact has 2 saved email addresses, and I ALWAYS send mail to the same address, but Outlook auto-selects for the other for some reason) and for another name, it auto-selects for an email address that doesn't even exist anymore--I deleted that address from teh person's saved contact field and put in a new one, but hat is not the address that comes up.

Is there a way to fix this?  I feel like Outlook is looking for email addresses in a place other than my saved contacts folder (contacts being the address book that I put togther with mailing addresses, birthdates, etc--that's what I mean by the contacts folder.

Thanks for the help

Outlook does not use the contact folder for address resolution - it uses a
cache that is built on the fly from addresses you type in the To field.  To
remove a bad address, when you start typing and the bad address appears,
arrow down to it in the list that appears and press the delete key.

I am having the same issue here as well.  I understand that you ca
delete the entry upon the resoultion attempt, however is there a way t
avoid this in the future, or is there a way to delete the cahc
completely and start from scratch?  I have several people who tend t
input an incorrect email address, thus bringing this problem up ove
and over again.  For me this is no big deal, as I can simply wor
around, but I have a few select individuals who get thoroughly peaved.
ANy further guidance would GREATLY be appreciated.

Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting
the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to
migrate to the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of
the field. To clear the entire cache, follow the instructions here:
